The eye business is a pricey one. And its the same routine after every eye doctor visit:
Dr. Bunson Honeydew announces, "Your eyes got worse. First, lets write up an order for your year of contact lenses. Now, let me bring you to our highly trained on-site glasses-technician to assist you in your desperately needed eye-glasses purchase for evening use, my dry-eyed friend."
Dr. Honeydew guides me out to an office-scape riddled with glasses. Beaker starts putting them on my face, then into a pile on the desk for me to choose from in an hour. The ones I really like cost over $200 (just for the frames - add lenses for $250-300), so I either settle for something that doesn't look awful, or I don't get anything, and there's an hour of my life I feel cheated out of. Having a child who needs them on a yearly basis, I stopped buying glasses for myself years ago.
By the end of the day, my eyes are tired and dry. Although I do have a pair, some 6+ years old, I need to squint at everything, and they are so rickety I need to hold them onto my face when I lean over. I have kept in my contacts until bedtime so I could do things like effectively help my daughter with homework, read, and execute some writing.
Then I found Firmoo.
And I thought of bubbles.
But Firmoo is NOT bubbles.
Firmoo is a porthole into attaining affordable, attractive glasses that fit!

I couldn't imagine being able to afford glasses for myself without skipping on buying my family of five groceries for two weeks.
But then I did start to imagine it.
I saw myself helping my daughter with homework without holding the math paper up to my nose.
I saw myself driving in the evening to pick up that much needed item instead of waiting for the next day when my contacts were back in.
I saw myself picking up the baby without my glasses falling on the floor.
I saw rainbows and unicorns.
So I gave it a shot.
I called Dr. Honeydew the next day and he faxed me my prescription.
I jumped on http://www.firmoo.com/ and found a nostalgic pair of glasses - burgundy colored, just like my first pair from when I was six.
My glasses arrived less than a week later.
They look great. They fit perfectly. I was amazed. I didn't need to sit there hashing out the price difference versus the frames I wanted. I didn't need to try and retry on glasses for an hour to make a decision. I didn't need to settle for something less than what I really wanted because what I really wanted cost too much. I didn't leave the site with nothing... because the whole experience didn't suck!
Although they make prescription sunglasses as well, I prefer the transitional lenses - the ones which gradually darken, adjusting to the amount of surrounding sunlight. In addition, I would appreciate a pair of glasses by Firmoo which had glare protection - to shield the eye from computer glare.
